Borobudur temple authorities have allowed visitors to enter the temple's garden area, which falls in Zone II, on Saturday.

“The garden area has been opened, but the temple hasn't,” Iskandar Siregar, Head of Technical Services at the Borobudur Heritage Conservation Office (BKPB), said.

Kasunanan Palace Solo

Solo is a major city in central Java, Indonesia. Together with Yogyakarta, these two cities are heirs of the Mataram kingdom which was split in 1755. Solo is the short name for Surakarta. During the coming Idul Fitri, the Borobudur Temple Park expects an increase in visitosr of 10% compared to last year.

According to the Head of the Borobudur Temple Park, Pujo Suwarno, ten days after 2009 Idul Fitri, the number of temple visitor amounted to 200.000 persons. "Consequently, 10 days after the coming Lebaran, it is expected to increase to 220.000 persons," he said yesterday.
